NJYC is delighted to invite boys and girls in grades 4, 5 and 6 to attend our 2018 Elementary Choral Festival, featuring Clinician Tom Shelton, the Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education at The College of New Jersey as the girls' clinician, and Fred Meads, the Director of the Princeton Boychoir, as the boys' clinician. The event is open to all members of school choral programs, community organizations, and church choirs, as well as individual singers.
Attendees will need to purchase and learn the repertoire prior to the festival. They will rehearse together during the day, and perform the pieces during a concert at 4 PM. Friends and family are welcome and encouraged to attend the performance.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
9:00 AM - Registration opens
9:30 AM - Program begins
12:00 PM - Lunch
4:00 PM - Concert
Participants should wear dark pants or jeans and a school/choir t-shirt for the performance, and bring a brown bag lunch as well as snacks and water. There is no cost to participate, but participants must provide their own music - the repertoire will be provided upon registration.
It promises to be a wonderful experience for all involved!
