Coriste and Camerata joined the choirs of Bernardsville Middle School and Bernards High School, along with several other young men and women, for our Young Men's & Young Women's Choral Festival. Co-sponsored by NJYC and Bernards High School, the festival featured guest clinicians Dr. Nicholas McBride of The College of New Jersey and Sun Min Lee from Lehigh University, and culminated in a terrific concert.

Our 2018 Winter Concert featured all five choirs doing what they do best - and they truly outdid themselves. We also had a special treat; the three girls' choirs came together to sing "Stand Together", the beautiful collaboration from the Team Campbell concert earlier in the year. Videos will be posted as soon as they are available - in the meantime, enjoy the photos!

On Saturday, November 18, Coriste, Sola Voce, and Primo Coro, along with select choirs from Bernardsville Middle School, held a "Kids for Kids" concert to benefit the Team Campbell Foundation, a non-profit that works closely with families who are faced with a childhood cancer diagnosis. We are thrilled to say that we raised over $5100 for this important organization!

NJYC was thrilled to host Zimfira Poloz, Artistic Director of the Hamilton Children’s Choir as a clinician for this very special workshop. Zimfira, a highly respected conductor, educator, and adjudicator with a distinguished international reputation, demonstrated her philosophy and approach to building a beautiful children's choral sound at all levels, from elementary through high school. Participants left with creative new ideas for eliciting the rich, vibrant sound that their choirs are naturally capable of producing!

The Children's Choir of Sussex County, the Newark Boy's Choir, and the Princeton Girl Choir joined NJYC's Sola Voce and Coro Vivo for the second annual Intermediate Choir Festival, a day hosted by NJYC that celebrates intermediate children's choirs and developing singers. We welcomed Fernando Malvar Ruiz, the former director of the American Boychoir, as the clinician.

After a workshop and some fun and games from 9:30 to 3, the day culminated in a concert at 3 PM. Each choir performed their own repertoire, then sang together under the direction of Mr. Malvar-Ruiz. Enjoy!

Several of our Coriste & Camerata juniors and seniors had the experience of a lifetime when NJYC was invited to perform with Barry Manilow at the Prudential Center  They backed him up on Copacabana, I Write the Songs, and It's a Miracle, complete with choreography and some extra vocal touches that Mr. Manilow's team knew our group would be able to handle.  It was truly a spectacular evening!
