Members of the NJ Youth Chorus, directed by Trish Joyce, sang the National Anthem at Citi Field on Saturday, Septemer 28th, prior to the historic Mets game against the Atlanta Braves.
At this game, Pete Alonso hit his league leading and rookie record setting home run, and we'd like to think that NJYC set the tone for the game! You can see the homer here at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGxuvY2zT4Y
Maybe it was just a coincidence, but music certainly is inspirational!
Well, it's not every day that you get to sing in one of the most prestigious venues in the world, but the New Jersey Youth Chorus had the privilege of performing there twice in less than twelve months. Over the Martin Luther King Jr holiday weekend, our Advanced Choir performed at Carnegie Hall as part of the Performing Arts Educators 9th Annual Invitational. It was simply a breathtaking performance! And the previous April, our Young Men's Ensemble sang there there with choirs from Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin & Wyoming.
